Leading on Our Own Terms
The ACE Women’s Network of Southern California hosted its Spring 2026 Lunch and Learn, Leading on Our Own Terms, on March 20, 2026, at the Santos Manuel Student Union North at California State University, San Bernardino. With over 300 attendees, the event brought together women leaders from the University of California, California State University, and California Community Colleges for an engaging panel discussion on authentic leadership, personal values, and forging unique leadership pathways. Participants enjoyed networking, lunch, and meaningful conversations that celebrated women redefining leadership on their own terms.
Unmuted: Claiming Your Voice to Advocate, Negotiate, and Lead with Power
Through a dynamic blend of talk, guided reflection, and small group exercises, participants will explore the barriers—internal and external—that mute women’s voices and will practice reframing their communication from tentative to transformational. The session culminates in a personal storytelling exercise to help each woman articulate her unique leadership narrative and use it as a tool for self-advocacy and influence.
Leadership Mosaic: Building Cross-Functional Synergy in Mentorship
In the dynamic landscape of higher education, effective leadership is not a
single skill but a mosaic of diverse, cross-functional abilities. Panelists will
emphasize the importance of mentorship that transcends traditional
boundaries, fostering a holistic approach to leadership development. By
integrating cross-functional elements into mentorship, leaders are not only
experts in their fields, but also become adept at navigating the complexities of
higher education.
